The construction of the Russian segment on the ISS is fully completed
The International Space Station (ISS) is a unique project in which dozens of countries participate, but two play the main role - the Russian Federation and the United States.
Despite the fact that the ISS has been in near-Earth orbit for more than a year, its construction has not stopped. And just the other day, representatives of the Russian corporation Roscosmos announced that the Russian segment of the ISS was fully completed.
The Russian segment of the ISS is completed
At the moment, the Russian segment of the international station consists of six modules:
- Block "Dawn". This module was launched into orbit in 1998.
- Service block "Star". It was launched into orbit and docked to the station in 2000.
- Small research module "Search". Launched into orbit in 2009.
- Small research block "Rassvet". Launched into orbit in 2010.
- Multi-purpose (and at the same time long-suffering) laboratory block "Science". Finally launched into orbit in 2021.
- Nodal module "Prichal". Also introduced to the ISS in 2021.
Recently, astronauts have been installing and adjusting equipment, and this process has finally come to an end.
And in order to record this event, the crew of the Soyuz MS-19 manned spacecraft after successful undocking and performed the necessary manipulations, performed a whole series of images of the ISS with the Russian segment in high quality.
The footage was taken by Russian cosmonaut Pyotr Dubrov.
Well, no more additional modules are planned for the ISS, and it is likely that it is in this state that she will last until the moment it is deorbited, and what does not burn in the dense layers of the atmosphere will be flooded in the world ocean.
And this means that already now we need to seriously think and already work on the creation of our own national orbital station so that experiments in space continue.
