Surprisingly simple ways to rid the site of weeds, which I learned about not so long ago. 6 work tips

Nothing pleases a gardener so much as strong new sprouts and seedlings of useful crops in the garden. And nothing is more upsetting than the presence of weeds between them. Like it or not, but you have to deal with unwanted grass, the only question arises: how!

Good afternoon dear friends!

Totally or pointwise! What am I talking about? For example, between young green sprouts of beets, carrots, peas or cucumbers, it is somehow not possible to use “mass weed killers”. expediently, you can hook on useful crops, but between the beds, on the paths, around fruit trees and tomato bushes, why not no. Both time and energy can be saved thanks to this approach. At the same time, it is worth noting that I am not talking about chemistry now, but about safer and more economical methods that I learned about not so long ago.

In general, I will not rant for a long time, but I will prompt 6 folk methods that can help you get rid of harmful growth on your site.

1.Corn gluten. A vitamin supplement to animal feed - corn gluten (do not confuse with starch) - prevents the appearance of weeds. It should be used only when the cultivated plants and seedlings are already well rooted. For gluten does not allow the seeds to germinate later. It cannot be used where it is planned to make a garden bed or flower garden in the future.

What needs to be done? Just take and gently sprinkle them between rows or spaces between plants, and that's it.

2.Salt. Do you know that plants don't grow on salt marshes? Yes! Well, since you know this fact, it is not difficult to guess that you can fight against unwanted growth with ordinary salt. It is enough to scatter it under the fence, on the paths or driveway to the site. As a result, over time, it will dissolve and soak into the ground, making it not entirely suitable for plants. Accordingly, the grass in such places will be much less.

But, you must be aware that, for example, near berry bushes and garden trees, salt should be used with caution. Since such cultivation of the land can affect their well-being.

3.Vinegar essence. This solution is used to get rid of already existing weeds. All you have to do is spray the vinegar with a spray bottle early in the morning. In this case, it is important to choose a clear, cloudless and windless day so that the vinegar can better cope with the plants (as it destroys them under the influence of sunlight).

You can also treat the entire area in early spring, when the grass is just starting to break through. But since the soil will become acidic after being treated with vinegar, it will then need to be fertilized with ash.

4.Boiled water. Did you know that it is possible to destroy weeds with boiling water?! No, try. Just water each plant with it. With young weeds, this method does an excellent job the first time, but adult specimens, the roots of which have already sprouted deeply, require several stages of processing. But in the end, they still capitulate anyway.

And I ask you not to forget about your own protection. Boiling water splashes can get on your feet and burn you if you stand close to the plant.

5.Organic mulch. Sawdust, bark, shavings, hay, straw, fallen leaves, pine needles, newspapers, cardboard, and even previously plucked weeds can become a defense against unwanted vegetation in your garden. It is only necessary to spread / scatter a similar "ingredient" between the beds, on the paths, around the trees and garden bushes. And voila, homemade mulch, blocking the access of sunlight, will not allow weeds to germinate.

But keep in mind that the use of mulch has its own characteristics. For example, do not pour coniferous needles under berry bushes, cardboard and newspapers will interfere with loosening the soil, and the grass after the mower must be dried beforehand, etc.

6.A solution of soap, salt and vinegar. How do you look at making herbicide from scrap ingredients? Positively! Great, then mix vinegar, salt and soap in equal parts. Pour the resulting mixture into a container with a spray bottle, and then process all unwanted growth.

Be careful. The product should not get on vegetables or flowers. It will destroy them. If you need to treat the area near cultivated plants, then use newspapers or cardboard to protect them.
