You can fight mosquitoes, midges, flies and other crawling or flying "nuisance" with all kinds of fumigators and insecticides. But how effective are they? An hour, two, three, and then? As a result, a decent amount of the family budget will be spent on providing constant protection over the summer.

While there is another solution that many do not even know about - these are plants that every buzzing little thing just hates.

So, in order to acquaint you with similar representatives of the flora, I have prepared this material. Of course, plants are not a 100% panacea for all insects. From time to time you still have to use industrial chemicals. But in much smaller quantities.

1. Lemongrass. Its smell is not liked by mosquitoes. Therefore, in order to scare them away, it will be enough for you to plant it on a loggia or balcony. Even with constant airing, the invasion of insects does not threaten you.

Lemongrass is also able to protect you when traveling to the country or to nature. To do this, take a few of its leaves, remember them by squeezing the juice and apply, for example, on clothes. The solution is short-term, but safe and cheap!

2. Mint. Did you know that mice, mosquitoes, spiders, flies, ants, fleas do not like her? No, so I, too, until recently! And you need something to get rid of them for sure, use crushed leaves or essential oil.

By the way, mint can be grown both in a pot on the windowsill and on the site. At the same time, it should be understood that in the southern regions it can easily flood the entire garden, as it grows well and is a perennial.

3. Eucalyptus. This Australian aborigine smells very pleasant for a person, but mosquitoes do not like him and try to fly around. Of course, you will have to grow eucalyptus on the windowsill; in the open field, it most likely will not take root. But being in a pot, he can spend the whole summer in the garden, balcony or loggia.

By the way, eucalyptus branches can be cut and dried as they grow. Thus, for the New Year holidays, you will have one more green decorative decoration.

4. Cedar. Many, not knowing about its properties, plant cedar in dachas and garden beds for decorative purposes. And they do everything right! After all, in addition to everything, it repels annoying insects like mosquitoes and flies.

Cedar is also an excellent remedy for moths. It is enough to put a few branches in the closet, and your fur coats and sweaters will be protected.

5. Ageratum. The aroma of this flowering representative of the flora is extremely unpleasant for insects. Therefore, if you want to significantly reduce the amount of living creatures itching over your ear, then plant it in a pot or in your flower bed. It blooms all summer, so the "midge" will fly around it, well, and you at the same time.

Unfortunately, the plant in our climate is an annual. So you will have to plant his seedlings every year.

6. Lavender. And finally, the well-known lavender, which is widely used to refresh linen or save it from moths. In fact, she is not yet loved by other insects. So feel free to plant it in a pot or in a flower bed. As a result, in the summer you will be saved from flies, midges and mosquitoes, and for the winter you can make several sachets and enjoy the summer scents from your clothes.

But keep in mind that lavender is a southern heat-loving plant. To plant it on the site, you need to take care of seedlings in the spring.
