My cucumbers do not get sick and from a small number of plants they give an excellent harvest. Sharing my knowledge
I want to share my experience and knowledge about growing cucumbers in the open field and greenhouse with my subscribers and guests of the channel. From 6-7 plants I harvest in baskets almost daily. In this article I will reveal my secrets of protection against diseases.
planting density
The distance between plants should be at least 50 cm (on the Internet they suggest planting at a distance of 35-45 cm).
If this rule is not followed, I noticed that cucumbers begin to get sick with powdery mildew, white and root rot, obscure each other and compete with each other, the ventilation in the garden bed.
Application of biofungicides
To protect plants and prevent them from diseases, I use biopreparations such as Glyocladin in the form of tablets and Trichocin in the form of a powder based on the useful fungus Trichoderma. Prevention should begin with the seedling period. Under one adult cucumber bush, once every 10-14 days I put 3-4 tablets of Glyocladin to a depth of 2 cm. It is enough to put 1-2 tablets under the seedlings.
I never use chemicals on cucumbers. Glyocladin is good to use for other plants, for example, I also use the drug under flower seedlings. When using Trichocin, I dissolve a sachet in 10 liters of water and water it under the root of the plant. After applying biological products, I always mulch the soil in order to retain moisture, and the Trichoderma fungus performed its protective functions well. You can not mulch the entire garden, but only the trunk circle, if there is not enough mowed grass, hay or straw.
During the next application of the biological product, I water it over the mulch, I don’t rake it anywhere. I just pour warm water on top so that the Trichoderma fungus penetrates deeper into the soil layers. I can also advise such biological products as Gamair and Alirin-B. They cope with many diseases and prevent them. They come with instructions on how to use them on plants.
