Tricks that will save time and nerves when working with an electrician

If you decide to start replacing wires without having the proper experience, problems may arise even with the simplest actions. How to properly connect the wires so that there is no short circuit or that they do not separate over time or under tension? How to attach stranded wires so as not to hook the metal itself?

I will try to share with you five simple life hacks that may come in handy in your work. Yes, for those who are constantly involved in electrics, they will not become something new and incomprehensible. But for those who do not yet have experience, they can be a revelation and a huge help.

1. If there is not enough wire

In this case, I'll show you an example. Short wires come out of the ceiling, which cannot be simply connected, except with the help of a soldering iron. But working with a soldering iron under the ceiling is inconvenient.

Tricks that will save time and nerves when working with an electrician

To do this, cut the ends of the wire just to a minimum so that they are only even. We take clips for wires, insert long ends first, fasten.

Then we lead to shorter wires and clamp them. There are different types of clamp connectors, and every electrician has them available. So, if you are going to do this business further, you will have to stock up on them. And for the initial work, such simple ones are enough.

2. If you need to nail a stranded wire without hitting it

To do this, you can use the usual plastic staples with which baking manufacturers attach bags of bread. They are wider than conventional clamps, so a nail or a self-tapping screw can easily be driven into them.

We simply wrap our wire with a bracket from bread and nail it in the right place to a wooden rail. Or, first we nail the bracket, and then insert the wire, wrapping it around it. Or we screw it in with a self-tapping screw, if the surface is made of a more serious material.

3. If only one wire is cut on a two-wire

It is not necessary to cut the second one, and then connect them separately. We cut in the middle, we separate our cut. We remove the ends of the insulation. And we insert the same one, but now a double-sided clip-connector for wires.

4. If the plug on the extension cord falls out of the socket

This method should be known not only by electricians, but also by any people who use such extension cords. If you simply insert the plug, at any tension it may fall out. It is best to tie the wires in a knot and only then insert the plug into the outlet. Now, even if you catch on the wire, the mount will stay in place.

5. If the wires diverge when twisting

If you have twisted the wires together, but they still diverge, you can apply two methods. Some hold the wire strand together by soldering it. But not everyone has a soldering iron at home. Therefore, it is easier and faster to simply strip the wire a little more, then tie the metal in two knots, and then tighten. And no matter how hard you push it, it won't break.
