How to perfectly cut the ceiling plinth in the corner? My friends were surprised when I showed them this "trick". It's very simple (down with the must)
Hello everyone on my channel! Dear guests and subscribers, today I will briefly tell you a simple way to cut a ceiling plinth or fillet at 45 degree angles. Cutting will be done only with a construction knife directly on the ceiling without using a miter box.
Let's start!
1. Take the skirting board and press it firmly against the wall so that one end rests on the corner. With a pencil, draw a line on the edge that touches the ceiling.
2. Attach the baseboard to another wall, but so that the end rests on the same corner (shown in the photo). Again, draw a line with a pencil along the edge of the baseboard.
3. Remove plinth. Mark the point of intersection of the pencil lines. Now we bring the plinth, as described in paragraph number 1. Firmly press the baseboard to the corner, there should be no gaps. We need to draw a line from the intersection point to the lower left corner of the plinth.
4. We cut along this line with a construction or any other knife, take your time, the cut should be even. Thus, we cut off a small triangle from the edge of the baseboard. Let's postpone this part for a while.
5. We bring the second piece of the plinth, as described in paragraph number 2. We press to the corner, do not forget to check that everything fits smoothly. With a pencil, draw a line from the intersection point to the lower right corner of the plinth, to draw a straight line, you can use a ruler. We cut off.
6. We connect two skirting boards. Check that the joint is even, if it does not converge somewhere, carefully correct it with a knife.
7. The choice of material for gluing depends on the material of the baguettes. For polystyrene and foam plastic, finishing putty with the addition of PVA, liquid nails or glue putty is suitable. For heavy polyurethane skirting boards, it is better to use special adhesives for stucco and decor.
I use the usual gypsum finishing putty: white, gray, brown.
9. The material you have chosen with a spatula is carefully applied to the plinth from the inside.
10. We glue the baguettes, press them tightly against the wall and ceiling, remove the glue that has gone beyond the contour with a cloth or finger, so the extra gaps will be closed, and the finished work will look neat.
Ready!
This type of trimming at 45 degree angles can be used in other construction work. Successful projects with your own hands, including cutting and gluing the ceiling plinth! See you soon!
