How to make new grinding attachments for an engraver for a penny
Hello everyone on my channel! I think many of those who work with a dremel or a drill sooner or later start to think about where to get new grinding attachments for standard bushings. Today I will briefly tell you a simple way how to make grinding attachments for an engraver with your own hands, which are not inferior in quality to the original ones.
Before starting, I really want to ask you, put likes, write comments and subscribe to the channel, and in return I will share construction tricks with you more often!
Let's start!
1. We will replenish the stocks of nozzles for grinding the format shown in the photo. As we can see, the nozzle is made by the method of oblique gluing, and I will work on this pattern.
2. First of all, we measure the size of our sleeve and conclude that the diameter of the new nozzle should not exceed the size of the sleeve, in my case 12.5 millimeters.
3. For further actions, we need a stick that will match the diameter of the future nozzle. You can use something from improvised means that will fit in size. I used a stick from an old crib.
4. We cut a strip of sandpaper and prepare a strip of masking tape, second glue and a couple of stationery clips, we will need them for convenience.
5. We take the masking tape and from the edge of the stick we begin to wind the sticky side up obliquely so that the paper does not twist, secure it with a clip.
6. Next, in my opinion, perhaps the most crucial moment. We need to apply second glue to the back of the piece of sandpaper. Do this carefully so that the glue does not get on your hands.
7. Glue the strip at an angle to the stick. A clamp will help you a lot here too. Watch the joints, there should be no gaps.
8. We also fix the second edge with a clip, check whether everything came out neatly and leave the product to dry.
Another little secret, if you still got your hands a little dirty in glue, then lightly rub the moistened fingertips on the pumice stone, everything should come off well and you won’t need any solvent.
9. When the glue is dry, we remove the clips and remove the stick from the product.
10. It remains to cut everything into pieces, check the dimensions with the original nozzles. It is most convenient to use scissors for metal.
Ready!
I got as many as 7 new grinding attachments for the engraver. It’s not scary if some nozzles turn out to be defective, we just get rid of them.
As you can see, the nozzle does an excellent job of sanding wood and metal.
Friends, that's all! I hope you liked this building trick and if so, be sure to write about it in the comments. See you soon!
