It’s a pity I didn’t know this simplest way to repair a foundation and a cracked wall before. Everyone should know this method

When building a private house or even a small building, it should be borne in mind that cracks may appear in the wall and foundation. This may depend on several factors - on poor-quality materials, on the antiquity of the structure, on the mobility of the earth in a particular area, on washing away with groundwater. For many, a crack is a signal that you need to completely disassemble the wall, or even the building, and build it all over again. But really, if the brakes flew in the car, you will buy a new one, and not fix what is broken? If you have an unlimited budget, you can do so. But if there is an opportunity - why not bring the building into working condition on your own?

As an example, I will tell you about the repair of an old brick shed, which is over 50 years old. The reason for the appearance of the crack is that farm animals were kept here. And from excess moisture, and simply animal waste, there was a washout, and then heaving of materials.

We strengthen the foundation

First of all, it is necessary to remove all debris, crumbling parts of the foundation in the ground part. We simply remove some with our hands, some will have to be chipped with a hammer.

We tear out a trench around the place where we will make repairs. The size depends on many factors, ranging from the material of the foundation to its depth. We clean the excavated section of the foundation from soil and dirt. For speed, you can use a plastic hard broom.

Reinforcement and installation of formwork

We cut twigs of 17-20 cm. We make holes in the lower and upper parts of the foundation with a puncher and drive in the rods along the edges. We pull the thread. We make holes along these threads and insert other rods. We lay long reinforcement, tying it to the rods.

We drive in two pillars along the edges of the wall and pull the thread. We drive in the rest of the racks strictly along it. We make shields from OSB or drywall, pre-covered with a film so that it does not get wet.

We prepare a concrete mixture from the proportions of 1 part of cement, 2.5 sand and 3.5 crushed stone. We lay out the concrete and compact it with a vibrator.

We dismantle the formwork and fill the soil back, ram it.

Repairing a crack

Using a perforator, we clean the crack in the wall. We expand the gap itself completely. And most importantly - we remove the solution approximately every two or three rows. The longer this strobe, the better. Rinse to remove dust.

We make a mortar for a brick at the rate of 1 to 4. We fill the strobe with a solution halfway, make holes and drive a piece of the bracket from the reinforcement with a hammer. After that, we completely fill the seam.

Such a screed, especially after -3 rows, will take our crack tightly. Only after this procedure we fill the crack itself.

With a reinforced foundation, our wall will never burst again.
