Domestic snow-plow from chainsaws with their hands

In February, spring is going to enter into their legal rights and the treacherous winter fighting for his place, releasing the streets snowstorms and blizzards. So, is not the time to clean the deposit of shovels and snow tools. Member of our forum Step139 offers to spend the winter as it should, having made homemade snowthrower-based chainsaw "Ural-2".

Step139 lives on the lake, where the snow in the cold season such as endless as the famous lake itself. Validating earlier cleared the land with a conventional aluminum shovel, but one day, after the massive snowfall, strong pondered to purchase special equipment. Electric option was dropped immediately because of the need to carry over a cable. Gasoline and rolling equipment was awkward to move on the steep slopes of the area. A self-propelled model also proved to be quite heavy, and, besides, it was impossible to descend the stairs.

The last factor, the slopes of the man to the production of own snowthrower became heavy soils - loam with gravel and distance from the city: in the event of a breakdown, hardware store would have to be taken to the repair of 70 kilometers. The unit, he decided to make as simple as possible, entirely of iron, but at the same time easy and maintainable.

For the manufacture of home-made snegouborschina forumchanin required:

• chainsaw "Ural-2", which was lying around in the garage with a distant Soviet times;

• metal sheet 1400h400 mm and 2 mm thick (blades and vanes);

• stainless sheet 700h800 mm, 1 mm (ladle shroud);

• shaft d20mm l = 800 mm;

• a pair of bearings d48 / 20 mm and pressed from both sides in the tube;

• Two unnecessary arc (20x20 mm square), and two crossbars (also 20x20) from the greenhouse (frame);

• nuts, washers, corner pieces 35 mm and a metal strip of 2 mm width and 40 mm length needed for fixing the casing to the side walls;

• crown "Minsk" sprocket from a motorcycle (driven big star);

• An asterisk on a motorcycle "sunrise" (leading, small);

• chain of the motorcycle "Minsk", "sunrise";

• brake cable from the snowmobile;

• trigger for gas;

• rubber handles on a snowmobile.

Almost half of this list party FORUMHOUSE found in his garage, the rest had to purchase in the shop - it Step139 spent 801 rubles.

Step139 (Member FORUMHOUSE):
- Structurally, I represented the unit, as an ordinary worm in the ladle on bearings with chain on the saw. There are two options at once - chain and outside chain bucket within. Me more liked the embodiment with chain inside, ie. K. In this case, the shaft is clamped on both sides of the bucket side walls. Wheels I have not found, and I stood on runners. In manufacturing it easier, you can bend the pipe from any (useful to me arc of the greenhouse here). Due to the fact that the runners swing, you can adjust the height of the cutting edge of the bucket from the surface (in this gripping topic of stones the first snow).

Looking through the rollers of the snowthrower on the Internet,Step139 concluded that the shorter frame and above the handle, the more likely burying screw. This error forumchanin decided to avoid when designing your machine.

Step139:
- For me, the most difficult is the screw manufacturing. But it was easier than I thought. Based on the fact, the screw 4 will consist of blades (2 pcs. on each side of the center) and the middle blade 2, and that the final diameter of the screw is 300 mm, I started to count feather blade. Width Bucket took approximately 600-640 mm. The width of the blades - 120 mm.

The forum folk craftsman gave very detailed mathematical calculations and even published their draft. To produce a helical blade it is decided 300 mm and a width of 220 mm with a working part of 70 mm width. For this forumchanin used metal sheet 2 mm thick - grinder and jigsaws are cut therefrom ring, and then with the vise in their stretched spiral. This work turned out to be heavy on the physical plane.

Following from this same Step139 steel blade produced, cut out from metal angle plate and started assembly screw together. On a flat surface perpendicular to the blade welded to the shaft. From the vanes has measured 220 mm and welded two side plates. After that clamps clamped blades to blades and plates and all this boil. A central web of each blade when it is necessary to press tightly against the shaft, and the webs each pair blades - stay strictly opposite each other and at a distance of 110 mm from the side plates and the blades, t. e. middle. Metal forumchanin cut 4 mm diameter disc of 110 mm and fastened thereto by bolts crown sprocket of the motorcycle "Minsk". Then cut the shaft to the size considering the gaps with the side walls.

Finding metal sidewall Step139 searched the whole district. There was even an idea to cut into pieces the public trash, but in the end, the metal is still found. And as the most difficult part of the job - making screw - has already been done, further events developed rapidly: Members made the cover of the bucket, set auger motor circuit and the remaining details. Your snowthrower FORUMHOUSE party began to gather for a week before the New Year, and in January, held the first test.

Step139:
- If someone would meet to do snowthrower, attach as possible all with washers engraver, twist the lock nut on the shorter, pinch to death. The other day I unwound bolt (he stands on the yoke, which presses the gearbox to the engine). Okay, saw fixed front and rear, but it would be split into two parts. Vibration, though small, is still there.

detailed account Step139 how he collected snow tools, photos of all schemes, calculations and aggregate production process, you will find in this topic our forum. And if you have already had experience snowthrower assembly or other garden machinery, share it with other members FORUMHOUSE.
