Growing tomatoes in a five-liter bottle. My mistakes

Last year, for the early harvest of tomatoes I have some tomato seedlings were grown in a 5-liter bottles without picks. What mistakes I made in the future?

I did what I should not have done

At the beginning of the seedlings of tomatoes developed superbly, better than the rest of the 0.5-liter glasses, because the root system has developed stronger and stronger in such bulk containers. As plant growth slipped the ground and to make dressing.

And then I realized that I needed to make big holes all over the surface of the container, so that the roots were able to leave the space of the bottle and continue to grow. Next time I'm pruning plastic and completely pull the seedlings out of the bottle.

In general I would say that the cultivation of tomatoes in 5-liter bottles, buckets and bags are not happy yields because plants need expanse, freedom. So now I try to grow tomatoes only in the soil itself.
