All when something happens for the first time. I had a bed
"Never say never"
My parents had a summer residence. Mom to be picked in the ground permanently. Periodically of children, including me, landed troops on weeding the beds. And then I decided: "I'll never engage in the ground!" In this confidence I stayed for a long time, very hard. But when I suddenly found that I - "Little Lady of the Big House", it was necessary to think about: not whether the flowers of the field to make room and give place to a garden, the crop plants.
"In the attic and learn, learn, learn"
Until then, I never engaged in gardening and bought a book on how to plant flowers, what are all the flower beds, and began to study. I had to dive into the unknown world to me. I learned that the beds are large, medium and small, ornamental, ceremonial, classic, carpet, seasonal or permanent annual perennial, and in fact also a two-year, shrubs, conifers and other ferns! The book was a picture by him, I taught the names of colors and various ornamental plants.
Drawings and plans on paper and on the ground
The look and shape of the future flower beds I have long thought. As a result, composed form, which wanted to see his first flowerbed. It had to be elongated sheet with two corners. I drew on paper first general plan of beds and how it will be distributed plants: the back - high, the corners of the "sheet" - accents of juniper at foreground - undersized small flowers, well, in the middle planned an "explosion" of something bright and main.
After sketching on paper, I went to the site where the planned bed, and made marks on the ground pegs on the width, length, held a stick on the ground line, then this line with a shovel, dig now Perimeter "sheet". This was followed by working on laying the formwork width of about 25 cm. Then the idea was born - a concrete ledge beds invest beautiful stones of medium size. Later in the same way - interspersed with stones in the cement - we have decorated path-track on the site and area for parking cars.
"I'm very sadila garden itself will be watered"
So, after the flowerbeds fence was ready, we are dragged into a good land, fertilizer, digging up all this. The soil is prepared for planting. And the fun began. I read a lot of literature, what colors are combined with what, at what a flower during flowering and painted, were depicted, where any decorative element to be in the flowerbed. But in fact completely follow his own plan I had not really happened. In the markets there were no instances of some seedlings that were on my list. I had something to replace something similar in mind and character. All were planted. And when caught, it turned out very nicely. But I continued to study a new subject for themselves. And I read that advises people to lay the felt sheets where not like the germination of weeds. I did that too. Later it turned out that weeds saving one - weeding (mother remembered the beds more than once!). Of course, initially it was all very carefully and "as in the picture." But then the nature began to take its toll. And no matter how I tried to cover the surface of the earth in different ways, it is still all kinds of creepers, goutweed, bloodroot, horsetail, dandelions were brought by the wind and settle on the surface of any "protection".
A flower bed is the first, and is central to the present day. She moved and lived a couple of plastic, but cute, swans, which we periodically update-tinted. Type of beds changed for 10 years from that conceived and drawn, to that which blooms and makes us happy today. I occasionally buy and display a multi-colored wood chips. This is a great thing! She decorates the flower beds and general site, and is a fertilizer. After all, at the end of the season wooden splinter rot and become progressively too soil. And so every year.
