Overhaul: replacing old wiring turnkey apartment (house built in 1978)

In early 2018 I started major repairs two-bedroom apartment, purchased by relatives. The facility is located in a 13-storey building built in 1978 and has an area of ​​55 square meters, with three separate rooms, a hall, a medium-sized kitchen and a separate bathroom. Complemented by two large loggias apartment for 6 meters each.

About the condition of the apartment I can only say that there is not repair was made following the date of a house. Wiring is not an exception, stretched two-wire aluminum wire around the home, calculated on much less stress than is necessary for the entire household appliances present in the modern apartment.

Training. Calculation and selection of materials.

In the first place, it was necessary to make an overall plan electricians to understand how much material is needed and where it will be installed. For the basis of this calculation must take into account what consumers will be in each room. In my case, the scheme was as follows.

Kitchen. As a rule, the bulk of the power goes to her, as almost all devices with a major load located here. That it was included in the plan:

- hob (glass ceramic) 7 kW. Direct connection to the wiring, without sockets.
- Built-in oven, about 4 kW. Direct connection to the wiring.
- extractor hood. My first joint, not take into account individual output under it, and now I have to let the cord on the edge of the kitchen units.
- Group of 4 outlets for fridge, microwave oven, electric kettle.
- Duty group of 2 sockets in the center of the future countertop kitchen units. Under mixer, etc. multivarku
- Group of 2 sockets next to the dining table for the possible installation of lamps.
- Chandelier of 5 lamps and socket thereto (in a hallway near the kitchen door).

Bathroom.
- A socket for a washing machine that is protected by RCDs.
- Cable outlet for connection of wall mirrors with illumination.
- Forced withdrawal.
- The lamp, switch to it (at the entrance to a bathroom, with two buttons to light and the hood).

Restroom.
- Forced withdrawal.
- lights and switches, the same as for the bathroom.

Room.
- Groups of 2 and 4 outlets
- Chandeliers and switches to them.

Hallway.
- Group of 2 sockets near the front door, one duty, one for router WI-FI.
- lamp and switch to it.
- Switch box.

Based on this list, it was decided to group the users in the following lines:

1. Leased line under the hob. Cable VVGng 3x6. 32A Machine.

2. Leased line under the oven. Cable 3x4. 20A Machine.

3. Line a group of 4 outlets in the kitchen. The idea is that they can operate simultaneously kettle, microwave oven and refrigerator, so I chose 3x4 and automatic 20A cable.

4. The line under the lights and the rest of the kitchen outlet, automatic 16A, cable 3h2,5 (3x1.5 lighting).

5. Identical lines for each room and hallway.

6. One line for the lighting and drawing the bath and toilet. Machine 16, cable 3h2,5.

7. The line under the washing machine, cable 3h2,5, differential machine 16.
All the lines are dependent on the general circuit breaker 40 amps.

Sockets and switches were chosen brand Legrand Valena white distribution board - Schneider brand of white plastic. Lamps and chandeliers purchased at various stores, the selection process took more than a day with the help of his wife.

Marking.
To calculate the material and to simplify further work, I marked out in advance on the wall and ceiling of the exact locations where they will be outlets and cable runs. I also marked the places for the distribution boxes and switch board. After this process, calculate the amount of each type of cable, corrugated, boxes and terminals it was not difficult.

Shtroblenie.
The most unpleasant, dirty and noisy stage of the work. According to the intended places in the previous paragraph, I cut a hole in the wall under the Enclosures and cutting grooves for cabling, and drilled through the wall for the passage of cables from one room to another. I used with diamond drill crown for Escutcheon with grinders and 125 st disc shtrobleniya for concrete. After cutting out two parallel lanes for cutting grooves, knocked brick conventional chisel. Niche under the switchboard also gouged puncher.

Installation.
Each Escutcheon attached to the wall using a plaster solution, it is walled and cables in the wall Grooves in. Cabling the apartment served on the ceiling through the corrugation fixed plug-collars. All lining the ceiling was carried out around the room, boxes were installed in the same place. For the cable connections inside the terminal boxes used WAGO disposable.

Installation of sockets and switches.
The main work was over. When the plaster has dried, I took up the installation of sockets. Cutting off and removing the desired length of outer insulation from the cable protruding from Escutcheon, each bared conductor to 11mm and connected to the respective outlet openings.

As switches and sockets series Legrand Valena have 2 openings for each core that allows you to connect multiple outlets in a row on the principle of the bridge, that is, letting a piece of cable between them. The cable is clamped in the socket integrated screwless terminals.

After connecting socket, it is inserted in the Escutcheon and secured by two "anchors" that disclosed when tightening the bolts on the front side of the socket and firmly fixed to the socket Enclosures.

After the socket body (or all outlets in one group) is attached, it is placed on the seat frame. In each hole applied external plastic frame part and socket construction fixed screw, which is in the middle of each socket.

Switches installed exactly on the same principle, in the last set button.

Completion.

Assembly and installation of the electrical panel, as well as connection to obschedomovoy network has been entrusted to an electrician serving the building.

When the repair of apartments coming to an end, or rather after wallpapering, suspended ceiling was installed throughout the apartment (except for the bathrooms, where it is made of plastic panels). Adjustment of chandeliers carried out by the installer over a stretch ceiling, which put the last point in the work on the wiring.

Several months have passed since the delivery of the apartment of its new inhabitants. Electrician complaints have been received, so that both they and I work as a performer, madly excited.
