How to store the timber
Timber is usually purchased in store for the entire facility for the construction of a frame house, then it is stored at the site. If there is no shelter, it can be placed and under the open sky. To do this, keep a few important rules.
storage place. Golf warehouse should be located on a hill, so it is not flooded by rain and melt water. Material should be placed at a distance from the building to prevent water dripping from the roofs are not on the stack.
Time. After unloading at the site must be added to all the timber for 2 days in the summer and 3 days in the winter to prevent deformation.
Protection. If possible, build a canopy for protection from rain. Especially this shelter will be very important if you intend to keep the board / bar a few years. Wall in the shed for long-term storage is desirable to make collapsible to increase ventilation. Open the canopy is located along the wind rose, and the canopy closes, it is desirable to establish across the prevailing winds. For protection from the direct rays and precipitation can be covered by a pile of film, Bent or slate. Will any material impervious to moisture and direct sunlight.
Gaskets. Before laying the lumber necessary to prepare gaskets. The land should be put anything major to increase the clearance between the first row and the ground. This can be a timber, a pipe / channel / brick (in this case, it is desirable to put them on a piece of roofing material for waterproofing). Gaskets should be flat. The distance between them should be 1.5 - 2 m. And for timber boards from 50mm for scaffold planks and 30-50 mm 1-1,5 optimal distance for lining and planks 30 mm average distance should be 1 meter. Gaskets should be placed in a row.
Stacking. In a stack of the same type it is desirable to stack the material so that it lies flat. As a last resort, if a little timber, it is possible stacking heterogeneous timber, but in this case each series must be composed of the same board. For example, in a row - only 25 mm planks. Brus stacked below, followed by board 50 mm, then - mec 25 mm etc. Before laying the boards must be cleaned of sawdust and dirt in order to achieve a clean and perfectly flat surface. Lumber is desirable to stack up the side which is directed towards the core in order to minimize bending during the storage time. Planks in a row can not be added back to back, between them should leave a little space to increase ventilation inside the stack.
The ends. The ends of the timber, it is desirable to protect the whitewash, perhaps - minium. When you see the ends of the cracks, it is necessary to come to them a small tablet or S- shaped bracket, it will stop further movement of the crack.
Revision of the stack. The stack should be regularly examined for lesions detection. If you have found fungus or mold, immediately iterate through the entire stack, carefully inspect each board and locate the affected material.
In the next article we will talk about the mounting accessories.
