I told him how to whiten the trees in autumn
In this article, I decided to share with you my experience of painting (or whitewash) trees in autumn, to protect them from some troubles. For example:
- whitewashing well protects the wood from the cold in winter;
- It helps to protect the trees from any small pests, fungi, and other things;
- protects the tree trunk from the formation of ice dams (especially when the weather is frosty, the thaw)
Step 1: waiting for good weather
It is important that there was no rain, and the weather was quite warm (even a small plus sign), otherwise all your work can go down the drain.
Step 2: Prepare the tree
Before whitewashing it is necessary to prepare a tree, or lime paint, or simply fall off, along with the old bark. I usually use a rough metal brush, which is great to deal with it.
And not only have to prepare a tree trunk, but also very thick main branches, which are then also need to blanch.
Step 3: Making the right whitewash
No matter what you use (lime, paint, etc.), your whitewash definitely need to add soap or PVA glue. This is done in order to whitewash adhere well to the trunk and not washed off after the first rain.
Step 4: Getting whitewash
There are a few rules that are important to know and use.
- whiten the best from top to bottom;
- seedlings, which less than a year, it is better not to touch it, otherwise it can hamper their development;
- Belim not just a tree trunk, but also the thickest of its branches;
