Jib in a wooden structure. It seems to be hard, but still reeling.
Can I make absolutely rigid structure made of wood? This question interested me even before I started to build my house.
But the more I delve into the construction site, the more it becomes clear that the tree - it is a specific material, and firmly here does not mean tough.
β Specifically this I faced when I started doing truss system in your home.
I already wrote about how I put the central rack and how then did ridge pole.
So, the whole structure is fixed to the temporary stops.
It's time to do jib.
Since between the posts I have four with a little meter, I decided to place the jib so that spans centers propped them. And thus was created the rigidity of the entire structure.
Since the plane of the walls, I'm not going to bet, I tried to focus not full height, and minimum, to stop and it was enough, and that in the future, they do not interfere move on attic.
Fixing, in my opinion, are basic:
- Above jib abut each other, and still further bonded plates.
- And attached to the uprights at the 120th nails and the studs 12 mm.
This design seems to mean a very strong and durable.
But I tried it sway.
And what do you think??? Of course she does not go shaking, but little wiggle there.
So I think:
- What have I done something wrong?
- Whether it is normal, and the tree as it is not attached, will still have a small deflection, and thus movement of structures?
While on the other hand, probably not consider this element separately.
Still, when still stand rafters, purlins and roof plus, together it will be a different design, which will have its own rigidity.
So time will tell. (β'β‘'β)
