This year I had to independently drill wells for water hand drill and confess honestly it was very hard. I spent a lot of time and effort on this venture, but the result was worth it. But I tell everything in order.

Back in the spring near our house wearing the small pond that was home to wild ducks, but at the end of the summer, after a severe drought, he abruptly dried up. Instead, the water is now the grass grows and the bottom of the pond was covered with large cracks.

In this regard, the level of water in our wells has fallen virtually to zero (left half a meter) and we were left without water. The neighbors of water was all right, because they have a well depth of 12 m, and our only 7 m (probably the former owners took the trouble to drill deeper). The first thing we decided to call and make a new drillers hole depth of 18 - 20 meters, but there it was. Nobody wanted to go for such a small hole. Some said that we drilled 50 m and the other inflated prices almost twice higher than the market (in 1-meter average well costs 1300 rubles for 125 casing, we were offered to do for 2000 rubles).

Such conditions are, of course, I was not satisfied. We have clay soil, and I decided to drill a well by hand. Ordered Internet drill diameter 185 mm under the casing 160, and an additional 7 bars of length 1.5 m. The total weight of the drill rods and only 15 kg. Rods made of conventional metal profile 25 by 25 mm. They could do it myself, but I decided not to waste time and take ready. The entire kit (+ drill rod) cost me 4,000 rubles.

The first thing I decided to try to deepen old wells, but at the bottom were rocks and drill just spinning in place. Nowhere to go, you need to drill a new one. As I did not know to look for water, but my neighbor said that water will be everywhere (on his site 3 wells), so stepping back 3 meters from the old well I set a new drilling.

The first 1.5 meters (humus layer) I'm bored very quickly, but when he came to the clay, the work slowed down. The clay is very dense and drill virtually plunged into it. I had the idea to pour water in the well to soften the clay and it worked! Boer was the perfect bite into the ground and it went much faster. The first day I drilled 4 meters without any problems. I worked about 3 hours.

The next day I drilled a little over a meter and has already reached the water (total drilled 5 m 3). Until the water drilled without much effort and thought that it goes on, but I was deeply mistaken.

At a depth of 6 m rod I had to be in two parts, as to raise and lower the drill to the ground greater length heavy and uncomfortable. From - for it on every dive was to go much longer. To make it easier to immerse the drill, I made a plywood substrate with a slot width of a little more than the rod and screw studs short piece at the end. But this is not the main problem. With every meter of the drill becomes severe, plus water resistance and, therefore, the drill was to get harder and harder. Drilled 10 meters have already put considerable effort (it was about 50-60 kg dostavaniya drill load).

But I did not give up. Drilled every day for 2-3 hours, to devote more time to this process simply had neither the time nor the energy. Total drilling wells took me a week. During this time, it was formed on the surface of a whole bunch of clay.

As a result, I drilled a hole depth of 12 meters (as a neighbor). The water level is a little more than 6.5 meters, which is about 130 liters of water. This volume is sufficient for the operation of domestic water supply system. This drill could drill a well and 20 meters, but only two of us, and assistants in my area to find very problematic. So I decided to stop at this depth. It remains only to install the casing and pump out the water, but I'll explain next time. The well drilling was spent a lot of time and effort, but happy is one that I have been able to save well.

At the end I want to say, if you plan to do with your hands well before think a hundred times, and Is it worth it, because this is not a simple idea, and you may be easier to hire a professional drillers.
