How to make a simple and reliable stool. Part 4. Dovetail in the legs

We continue to investigate in detail the topic of manufacturing stool.
To make it more clear how to do milling in the legs, I prepared a small chertezhik
According to the project planned to indent tsargi 5 mm from the outer edge of the foot. Mill, which was used in the narrowest part of the cuts almost 2 mm.
These are cut and a 2 mm wide spike in its part turns 14 mm, and the stud edge must be located at a distance of 7 mm from the outer edge of the legs. The milling cutter diameter of 9.5 mm - rounded up to 10 mm.
Based on this calculation is milling.
There is marked red cutter. It is evident that milling of the grooves will be done in two passes. The first groove is milled from the outside of the legs. The figure shows the dimensions for setting the cutter from the side stop. The dimensions considered by the stop near the edge of the cutter.
The second slot will be done from the inside of the legs. The dimensions are considered from the far edge of the cutter. (Although it could also on low)
After calculations, it is advisable to do a test to check the milling.
Line marks the milling depth. Drawer side has a size of 70 mm, and as the mill has an angle of inclination, then you need to make this layout less - say 67 mm to the bottom mounted drawer side does not get an extra milling.. The size is counted from the far edge of the cutter. Cutter knives rotates parallel lateral stop.
We put emphasis on a side of 7 mm from the inner edge of the cutter and making the first pass.
Then adjust the second resolution -11 mm and make a second pass.
Check comes as a side-bar. If all goes well, then the probe can make a mark on what amounts milled.
The same is done with the second side.

Upon such verification can be milled legs.
It is understood that the same amount of all frezeruete preform for legs - 4 per stool 8 - on two stools and so on.
As a result, the router is reconfigured four times. Milling instead of the line clamp is convenient to fix the limiter, only need to pick it up on the table, that was where the chips fly.
