Device for the router. Production of bent backs and not only
What I like to work with wood - is that the same tasks can be performed completely different tools and methods. I'll tell you about one such case.
The goal is to make a bent back to his chair. You can cut it out back on the bandsaw, and then long to align and clean up the traces of the saw, and probably do it with a router.
When I made a chair for my daughter, I decided to make the back with the help of a simple device to the router.
Back it was necessary to do so:
A tool for this is done:
The basis of frame, in the side walls which drank two fret segment with a radius of 450 mm. (As a project)
Sawn segments are interconnected by two fanerku so that between them and the middle there is a gap for milling.
By fanerku still screwed two bars. Dimensions fanerok and the distance between the bars were adjusted so that the router platform freely fit.
Later in the frame, I was packing and pinched the back blank. The center workpiece combined with the middle of arc (from the lowest point).
Then the upper frame placed in the bottom, run the router and how to swing milled arc. She exhibited first cutter so that at the lowest point filmed about 5 mm.
With each oscillation mill shifted from left to right by an amount slightly less than the diameter of the cutter. It is easier to mill and nothing is overlooked.
The desired depth is obtained in several passes of the mill. On each pass through the mill put a little deeper.
The result was an arc:
This way you can make indentations on the seats of chairs and stools, as if these "swing" has to turn in a circle, you can get in-depth of the cup type.
