Homemade filler router. Device.

This device I made 5 years ago and it still serves as a good helper when assembling furniture and other wood products.

In fact it is a platform for the router, which can be used to quickly and accurately make holes for dowels.

Apparatus simple tool - a rectangular plate which on one side is flush with the base of the router, and from the opposite corner moving in the slots.

This area may be fixed at a predetermined distance from the cutter center and thus define the position of items porting plane.

On the right and left of the cutter center located at two locations at a distance from the center 32 and 64 mm. These dimensions are taken from the system adopted in the furniture industry, when marking holes for the fittings is 32 mm. Could take and a different size, it's just my habit, because for a long time worked as a designer-technologist in the furniture industry.

These holes can be inserted at the site constraints that once it was possible to drill from the edge of the part on the already known distance or make a series of holes in increments of 32 or 64 mm.

For greater accuracy and reliability in the holes limiters I pasted metal sleeve with an inner hole of 8 mm to insert preamble. Previously couple of years, I have used the site without such sleeves and opening with time a bit broken.

In addition to porting, with emphasis on the constraints can be successfully drill on the markup. To this end, the corner window of the moving part is made with an insert made of plexiglass. On plexiglas applied risk that goes along the cutter axis in the center. This makes it possible to combine the marking line with a marking in the box and drill holes in any place at a predetermined distance from the plane.
