Do-it-yourself pond from what you can throw away, but it's a pity
Every person living in his house will certainly accumulate things. Which are kept, they do not ask to eat. But they take up space, but the economic vein does not allow to throw it away. Maybe they'll come in handy. So it was with us.
We bought a house, renovated it for a couple of years, changed communications. Now the garden has been planted, the flower garden is broken, the raspberry tree bears fruit, but still, something is missing. It's time to start arranging the site. We decided to make a garden pond, but with fish. In addition, there were Taras carp and two crucian carp - the Karamazov brothers, which were presented to our cats by a neighbor, a fisherman. But, mustachioed to live fish were indifferent, and therefore they were settled in the aquarium.
Conceived - done!
After reflection and sorting out what is available, we began to implement our plans. So our asset:
· Two human forces;
· Last year's film from the greenhouse;
· Old insert from the frame pool;
· A great desire to transform the shady part of the site, on which nothing wants to grow.
Go!
The order of the plans being implemented
Planning is half the battle, and markup is the foundation of everything.
It was decided to make the pond on two levels. The shallow part (70 cm) is for pots with water lilies, the deep part (120 cm) is for fish. We chose a teardrop shape. This is what the base looked like.
After that, we laid last year's film from the greenhouse in several layers and on top of it an insert from the pool.
Pressing down the protruding parts with bricks, they poured water and left for a day to drive air out of the voids under the film and liner.
Then, along the perimeter, they laid out a side of brick, cutting and bending the liner under it. The selected soil was leveled. Dung a savage stone from the nearest quarry.
They lined the sides with stone. It was decided to lay the masonry without cement until the ground and the brick-lined side were settled. They poured fresh water and "planted" an eichornia with a pistia. That's what we got almost in the end.
The only thing we were not lucky with the nymphs, they were not on sale. But we were not upset and bought a pond fountain with 3 nozzles. Which was tested immediately upon arrival home.
After settling water, the fish were released into their habitat. And the first who appreciated the merits were our cats - Businka and Murysya.
Further plans:
· Change of fence;
· Power supply to the pond, installation of street lamps;
· Planting plants near the reservoir;
· Arrangement of a recreation area.
In the meantime, we enjoy the pacifying murmur of the fountain and the night songs of the settled frogs.
