A potato planting tool that I have not seen before. Saves time and effort

Recently I looked into the department of garden tools in Leroy and saw an unusual tool at first glance:

If there are no price tags with a name, then I would not immediately understand what these devices are for. But how do they work and how much more convenient are they than a simple shovel? Climbed on the Internet to watch. Here are short gig images of the process:

This is not a Bogatyr potato planter, but a gardener's tool similar in design. It is convenient for them to plant potatoes only in loose soil after plowing with a cutter. After the plow, especially when plowing still wet or clayey soil, there are hard lumps of soil and potatoes can only be planted on them with a shovel. It is better to plow virgin soil with a plow, and then walk with a mill.

You need a piece of square pipe 60x60 mm (or just a round pipe). The pipe is cut lengthwise with the separation of the lower part to obtain a cone when the two halves come into contact, the fastener and two handle pipes are welded. To reduce weight, only two fasteners can be welded for wooden cuttings. And the Antoshka potato digger can be welded from a piece of curved sheet 1.5 mm thick and a water pipe as a handle.

But folk ingenuity in the process of simplifying the process of planting potatoes did not stop. The so-called marker for planting potatoes was invented and made by craftsmen:

He walked around the garden with a marker, threw potatoes into the holes and buried them with his feet. Again, if the ground is loose and sufficiently dry or sandy. In clay soil, all this will be more difficult, the earth will be compacted with a marker. Good or bad for potatoes - I don't know. But such a tool greatly simplifies the process of planting potatoes.
