Organizer "Wheel of Fortune" on a jig machine.
Somehow puzzled me to come up and make another unique, exclusive gift. Well at least the time it was about a week.
Of course, I immediately thought that the gift you can cut it out on your favorite jig machine. I wanted something new that I had never done before. As a result, he inspired kinetic sculptures and decided to try to do something simple and functional.
The result was such a project here:
This is done in SketchUp. After creating the project, prepared and printed patterns, the workshop found suitable dosochki and started manufacturing
Initially, reasons for sawed organizer - dosochki 20 mm thickness. Yes, I did not say that he decided to make a desktop organizer that can be put on the table head
Then came the turn of the wheels. Wheels made from 10 mm thick beech. Here, the main task was to patiently and carefully cut it out circles and all internal parts.
The next step was to make a small box. First I made a rectangular billet according to the drawing. Then sawed from one end plate of about 5mm thick - this will be the bottom.
Since my machine can cut parts 50 mm., The height of such I left most portion of the preform. Hole drilled in it and inside the sawed rectangle, such that the wall turned about 5 mm.
Another point - before sawing the bottom on the details, I made a pencil mark to further glue the bottom in place. Saw off the bottom as the jig machine, because the cut turns out very thin and after gluing the bottom seam a bit hard to see.
The second box, I decided not to cut and nasverlit it a few holes with a diameter of 10 mm for pens and pencils.

After cutting out all the details have been carefully polished.
Then covered with a homemade wax and mastic glued on PVA carpenter. The wheels are made mobile and when building I deliberately made so that the blades are viewed in different directions.
