I found a home the old economic brush that it was time to send for recycling. But I did not throw it, and decided to make a useful home-made, which is useful in the workshop and can help out in difficult times. Today I'll show you how to make a simple but convenient device for fixing of abrasives.

For this homemade apart brushes, I still needed a small piece of plywood sized 85 to 185 mm, the scrap plastic pipes 20 mm in diameter, a pair of bolts (screws) 5-25 mm in length and a few nuts.

First of all, I took a brush and get rid of the bristles, which are already rather worn out and were completely clogged with hair. Bristles took out pliers and make it was very easy, so this operation is not a long time gone.

Then he took scrap 20 pipe length 8 cm, and holding it in the vise, sawed along the tube into two equal parts conventional hacksaw. It was probably the most difficult stage in the preparation of this homemade. Thereafter, burrs removed all the items and polished so that their faces are approximately in one plane.

Then, exactly in the middle, in each drilled hole cutting pipe diameter of 6 mm.

Further he took harvested piece of plywood and drilled holes at the center of each side, departing from the edge of 11-12 mm. Only this time using a drill with a diameter of 5 mm.

And he made a countersink holes to completely drown the bonnet bolts (screws).

When all the preparatory stages have been completed, he began to collect details of the future devices together. Inserted into the holes bolts (screws), and tighten the nut.

Set on top of a plastic pipe cutter and fixed them the wing nuts. You could take the conventional nuts, but with the lambs will be much more convenient.

And in the end I set the main element - the handle of a brush by screwing it on the screws, although it was possible to take advantage of and glue. Thus, virtually unnecessary stuff I got the device for securing the abrasives that is useful for polishing various surfaces. Homemade dimensions allow to insert a sheet of sandpaper standard size 170 by 235 mm. Obtained from a single sheet of two working strip.
