Canadian felling or how to make the warmest log cabin from 10 logs
Invented in Russia, and used in Canada - this phrase can be said with confidence about the unique technology of "Canadian" felling. In fact, it was first used in Siberia, and only then did this method take root in Canada. The Canadian felling is distinguished by a more scrupulous fit of the logs and the selection of trees of maximum thickness.
The paws of a log house, made using Canadian technology, look like this:
Please note: the joints are adjusted to each other with millimeter precision. The minimum gap is almost not caulked: it almost does not let the cold through.
And thick logs (diameters from 40 cm and above) are the guarantee of a always warm house.
By the way, in the photo above - the so-called "diamond bowl"- the connection is so called because the logs are fitted with jewelry precision.
How are the logs connected in the Canadian wheelhouse?
The craftsmanship of the carpenters who make such houses can be seen most clearly in this photo:
Just look at the jewelry fit of the logs!
The second thing for which Canadian log houses are loved is a small amount of used logs.
Forthe construction of such a log house will require only 10-12 large logs, and due to the high weight they lie so firmly that panoramic glazing can be safely installed in such houses. And don't be afraid that the house will shrink!
The photo shows a typical log house made using Canadian technology. Despite the "old" appearance, the house is equipped with panoramic windows with plastic double-glazed windows and modern roof aerators.
