Leakage protection. Sew up the pipes in the toilet with tiles without the risk of flooding the neighbors
I already wrote how to make for a bathroom "Universal hatch" for a penny. You answered that it is dangerous to sew up pipes. Allegedly, in the event of a leak, I simply will not notice it. As a result, I will flood my neighbors. We'll have to restore their apartment and his own. I secured myself against this risk. Which of the many options I have chosen will now tell you.
Everyone runs the risk of flooding neighbors due to a leak or a burst of communications. It doesn't matter if the pipes are covered with tiles, quick-release panels or decorative shutters. After all, we do not sit around the clock in an apartment. If the tap leaks while we are at work or just sleeping at home, we will not know about it right away. The problem must be fought at the stage of its appearance!
The solution is quite standard - install a leakage protection system. But the devil is in the little things.
Mechanical systems close the taps as soon as water enters the sensor. When a sewer pipe bursts, they are useless.
I already had a pipe "from the developer" that goes to the riser from the bath. So the problem is more than real and a simple sensor cannot solve it.
Then the choice fell on leakage protection systems from the "smart home" kits. Having studied the most popular systems, I settled on the solution of Russian developers (rubetek). I am skeptical about such electronic things, so I took only two devices for the test: the control unit and the leakage sensors themselves. I have been postponing with cranes, but even without them everything works. Let me explain.
The control unit is something like the brain of a smart home. In the leakage protection system, he reads information from the sensors, in an emergency, he closes the taps on the risers and duplicates the information on the phone. In general, there are much more opportunities, but now we are not talking about that. Need more details - read at manufacturer.
So far, I have connected only the control unit and sensors (behind the sewing near the risers, near the washing machine and in the kitchen under the sink). He “drowned” them in every possible way, set up scripts and a timer. SMS and push notifications immediately come to the phone, the relay is triggered.
Someone may be satisfied with this option. In the application for sending notifications, you can add the phone numbers of the chairman and the plumber, which in the event of an emergency will block the riser. For myself, for complete autonomy, I will add cranes with a servo drive.
As for costs, I used to think that a smart home is too expensive a pleasure. As it turned out, even complete with cranes is cheaper than mechanical systems. Is it worth paying for security or hoping at random, decide for yourself.
That's all for me. Thanks for reading. If the article was helpful, subscribe to the channel and of course put your thumbs up 👍.
