Basil Drink of the Year
This year I have sown different varieties of basil, both in the greenhouse and in the open ground. Now I'm gourmet.
This southern seasoning cannot be sown early, I took this into account. I grew a little by seedling, the rest was sown directly into the ground in early June.
Further, the secret of growing is exactly one: water. Well, cut it off in time until it bloomed. When cutting, I leave at least 4 sinuses for new tops.
Today I discovered that 2 varieties were going to bloom, urgently collected one, and pinched the flowers on the other. This basil is in no way comparable to the powerful bundles that are sold on the market. There are straight branches!
Here is the harvest for July 9, there will be more. This is the second collection, the first one was smaller:
I decided to make a win-win drink from what was.
In general, we needed:
- 2 handfuls of basil
- 2 handfuls of dried apples
- 2 l of water
- 3 tbsp. l honey
How did
- I put apples and basil in a 3 liter jar
- I put 3 tbsp in the jar. l so it doesn't burst
- Poured boiling water
- Left for 40 minutes, did not cover (the aroma was unforgettable!)
- Poured the infusion into another jar
- Added 3 tbsp. l honey
Here's what happened:
The taste is intense. Absolutely not compote and not honey.
Lemon cinnamon plus tropical sweetness!
