Kursk eco-friendly watermelons are not advertising
Last year, in 2019, Kursk eco-friendly watermelons appeared in Kursk. We heard about them, but did not have time to try. This year it's time to share your tasting experience.
In general, this successful agricultural project never ceases to amaze and amaze me. I did not dare to grow watermelons, a few things, but they risked a whole melon!
It is interesting that this summer, exactly a year later, counterfeits under the Kursk Watermelons brand began to appear. They were sold when the real "kuryans" were green. And then they simply passed off the imported ones for the alleged Kursk.
After that, farmers began to sell their unusual goods only from melons outside the city. The watermelons are completely dispersed there, there is a queue.
Last year, a few of these watermelons were sold in the Europe store, but most of them left melons.
So, trying yellow watermelon:
Impressions:
- Aroma!
- Sweetness!
- Delicious!
We asked why didn't we plant more of these delicious ones?
It turned out that the hybrid is capricious; in bad weather it would have been a loss. Therefore, about 10 hybrids are grown, reducing the risks.
What I know about sustainable watermelon farming
The source of knowledge is Instagram.
- Expensive Dutch seeds suitable for our area
- Do not use chemical poisons, only organic farming
- Hybrids that are especially difficult to grow are grafted onto pumpkin roots
- Drip irrigation
- All covered with hay
Watermelons can crack and need to be protected from pests and birds. This is not a fight with 100% victory, but people still win.
It is worth giving a slack, birds can ruin all the watermelons. So it was with my neighbor. One day crows flew in a flock, and all her watermelons ate. There were no birds, there were no, and here you are ...
Who grows such wonderful watermelons
The heart of the matter is Alexey Markin, the father of three children. His wife and children help him.
Before that, the husband and wife had been developing the Schastlivaya Malysh store chain for many years. Now he has enthusiasm, plus Alexei has a love for agriculture since childhood, plus a reasonable approach, and an exemplary melon! The man inspired his entire family.
What else I like is that Aleksey Markin himself chooses watermelons for buyers at the melons!
Do you grow watermelons?
I would be grateful if you share your experience :)
