How "self-leveling" works: five minutes, and the floor is flooded
You will hardly find floors from a self-leveling mixture anywhere in a Russian house, since this the technology came to our country only 5 years ago, and so far few of the builders have learned to fill the floors with with her help.
In the West, according to a German colleague with experience, builders already in 70-80% of cases fill the floors only in this way. Technology speeds up the process at times, see for yourself on the video.
Self-leveling floor (video):
What is the mixture made of?
Self-leveling mixture is made on gypsum or cement base with the addition of a special filler. This means that it is inexpensive. By the way, it is the filler, the recipe for which is not disclosed, that gives the mixture the ability to ideally "take" the level and level horizontal surfaces (concrete, reinforced concrete).
The curing time is on average 24 hours, that is, you can walk on the floor within a day after pouring.
Amazing speed!
If you were delighted and decided that this floor is the topcoat, do not jump to conclusions.
Not so simple. The floor, of course, freezes very quickly, but if you walk on it, it will wear out. Therefore, linoleum, carpet or laminate flooring are usually laid on top of the mixture.
Another name for a self-leveling mixture is "self-leveling" or "equalizer".
What else is good about such a mixture is its sound insulation properties. According to an advanced comrade who flooded the floor with self-leveling in an ordinary Khrushchev, he practically stopped hearing the scandalous neighbors from below.
"It remains only to soundproof the sockets somehow, and the house will be completely comfortable." - the comrade admits.
In a hardware store, such a "miracle" is estimated at 570 rubles per bag of 25 kilograms. One kilogram is enough for one and a half square meters of floor, which is quite economical.
