Waterproofing with liquid glass did not help. Everything that I so diligently put on the walls of my basement fell off.
Some "technologies" taken from the Internet, You have to check for yourself. And they are not always useful. Although it may be in my hands ???
Friends, this is a continuation of the story with my basement, which has been going on for a long time. While the house is being built, there is no time to specifically deal with it, so you have to do the work by raids.
In the last article, I wrote about problems with ventilation in the summer, and what this led to in my basement.
If interesting read here.
But at the same time, I discovered another problem ...
This winter, I carefully repaired all the leaks, and diligently coated the walls with homemade waterproofing - cement with liquid glass.
And in the first months everything was just fine.
But after half a year, all this coating cracked and left the walls in one "crust", after which it simply did not make any sense. So I beat it all off and threw it away.
β After that, I want to say that the technology is g... but, and everyone lies when they say that this is the cheapest and most effective way of waterproofing.
But I decided to look into my actions.
- Surface preparation prior to application was not perfect. It was somewhere dry, somewhere wet, which could affect adhesion.
- In this case, a layer was applied (about 5 mm) without any reinforcement, some kind of mesh.
Even these factors are enough to place most of the blame on me and not on the liquid glass.
But who is to blame will remain a mystery in the end, and it's up to you... π
And I will try another method that is more efficient. But more on that in the following articles.
