Birds are attacking my home! How I caught them, and fixed the problems that they managed to bring.
Lovely creatures that make the atmosphere of suburban life even more beautiful can pose a real threat in a private home. Of course they will not bite you, but they can harm the structure of the house.
I was convinced of this by my example.
I don’t know why I didn’t notice this before (the box at home has been standing for a year), but now the birds just started attacking my house.
Maybe this is due to the fact that I recently discovered and removed their nest from under the eaves? And now they are taking revenge on me 😏?
And also, recently I closed all free "entrances to the house"
Gradually approaching the insulation of the roof, the pediments and places under the eaves of the roof were sealed to the end.
And if earlier, probably, everyone freely flew in and out, now it has become problematic.
Sometimes you do something inside the house, and... then there is someone scratching, then in another corner they are trying to get through.
✅ And it's bad when they find a loophole, but they can't get back ...
This is how one "character" became a hostage in my house.
It was a titmouse. And I don't know how long she spent there, but I didn't hear her, didn't notice her hysterical in all corners of the house... Just a glance fell on her as she calmly sat on the rafters ...
I had to catch her... Here's a video:
After that, I decided to walk through all the corners and patch up possible paths for these intruders.
And in the process of work, I discovered an unpleasant thing.
The roofing membrane was broken in two places. And I immediately understood who did it.
But it is not clear that my guest, whom I was catching, or other titmouses that could get into the ventilation gap between the membrane and the metal tiles, pecked at these holes, the overhangs are not yet sewn up either.
Of course, I eliminated these jambs.
Now I don’t know what to do. I wanted to deal with the inside, but it looks like I will have to finish everything outside first.
Can birds settle in the ventilation gap? Write in the comments who encountered this.
