Unkillable level for 400 rubles. Do you think it makes sense to overpay for brands?

In one of the previous articles, I talked about adjusting the building level. A reader with the nickname "Olegator" shared an interesting life hack in the comments.

Once he forgot the level at home and found it on the way to the object. It happens to everyone. I drove to the store and bought the most deshman - work for a day. Then, for the sake of experiment, I slightly modified it. After that, the level served for about 8 years and proved to be the most accurate instrument.

Let's repeat this "trick". We need:

• Alabaster package (stucco). It cost me 60 rubles.
• The cheapest, hollow, thin-walled Chinese level. There are 300 rubles in stores. Ironically, I have one lying around in my garage - I use it as a ruler.

The improvement technology is insanely simple. But, as usual, there are a couple of nuances.

We make a small-diameter drill in the hole level plugs. We remove one of the plugs.

We knead the alabaster. It is necessary to work without delay, he does not like the sluggish - he grasps very quickly.

I can't get rid of a bad habit that I got attached after working with concrete. You always want to save water, and give the mixture mobility due to vibration. It didn't work like that here.

The consistency in the photo below is too thick. He hammered the level cavity with plaster on one side and closed the plug.

After that, I mixed the alabaster to the consistency of thick sour cream. I completely filled the level with this mixture through the opposite end. At the same time, he vibrated properly. I put on a second plug.

Remember I drilled holes? They are needed so that there is no air left under the plug. We don't need the pressure in this cavity.

As a result, from a cheap thin-walled level, which will fall apart after the first fall, we got a massive instrument with a plaster core.

Sometimes the quality of a tool is judged by its weight. By this parameter, the level now surpasses all competitors.

In terms of accuracy, the horizon will not break here even after the fall. The plaster mixture went into all the slits and securely fixed the capsules.
