Recently I bought a cable skirting board in a construction hypermarket closest to my house, and once again noticed a curious thing - the owners of large construction stores profit from trifles.

A specific example: skirting boards are available in standard lengths of 2.5 meters. I understand that they are often made from recycled plastic, so even taking into account the painting, their price is ridiculous: 65-100 rubles for a plinth.

Personally, I bought the most budgetary one, the color "Bleached Oak".
But the most interesting thing is different ..

If 2.5 meters of plinth cost 65 rubles, then a set of 2 docking joints for such a plinth costs 35 rubles.

You say: "Yes, it's a little money, come on!"

And I will answer: "You are absolutely right, but the point is in the price ratio of the main product and its accessories."

Obviously, it took a lot of plastic to make 2.5 meters of plinth, but it takes 40-50 times less to cast a tiny plastic compound. However, we see that one connection costs almost 25% of the price of the skirting board itself.

The devil is in the details, and many hardware stores make money on the little things.

• paint is inexpensive, but each brush is at least 100 rubles;
• it is very unprofitable to take screws in small containers - it is better to take them in a specialized store and by weight;
• the cost of 1 meter of a duct is ridiculous (especially a plastic one), but every connection, angle, turn or anemostat is already expensive.

So it turns out that before deciding which store to buy building materials in, you also need to calculate the cost of accessories: plugs, washers, fasteners, etc.

Otherwise, you will inevitably find yourself deceived: after all, it is almost impossible to pick up the details "color in color" in another store.
