We grow a beautiful indoor Pomegranate from seeds. I am telling the features of the process, thanks to which you will avoid my mistakes
The healthy and delicious pomegranate fruit can be grown from the seed at home. A plant with orange - red flowers will decorate your home. I will tell you what favorable conditions are necessary for its growth, and what rules of care.
Features of growing indoor pomegranate
In order for you to avoid mistakes, you need to know some of the nuances, namely:
· choose the right seeds. To do this, you need to take a ripe, beautiful and healthy fruit, and use fresh seeds. Please note that seeds from a pomegranate bought at the market or in a store will give a highly decorative plant, but the fruits will not retain the desired taste. The best choice is a ripe fruit obtained from a houseplant;
· prepare the seeds correctly. The pulp is removed from the seeds. Then you need to place them in water for 12 hours with the addition of 2-3 drops of Amin. This will help stimulate seed germination.
Moreover, pay attention that the bones are not completely in the solution. Then they will receive both moisture and oxygen;
· sow the seeds correctly. For sowing, I recommend choosing a loose nutritious soil mixture. Dry the prepared bones, plant them in the soil to a depth of 10-15 cm, and water.
Cover the container with glass or foil. Choose a place for the plant where sunlight is well received;
· choose the right sowing time. The best time for this is the last week of February or early March.
Care features
Follow the basic rules of care:
· Water the plant at the root, water should not get on the leaves. I use a narrow-nosed watering can. During flowering, watering should be reduced, but still do not allow the soil to dry out;
· To stimulate the growth of seedlings, feed it with wood ash at the rate of 1 teaspoon of ash per 1 liter of water, and water young bushes with this solution.
To fertilize the tree, I recommend using a universal liquid fertilizer intended for indoor plants.
Do such dressings in spring and summer 2 times a month;
If you grow a pomegranate tree not for decoration, but to get a harvest of fruits, then it is better to feed it with organic fertilizers, for example, chicken droppings;
· The first plant transplant should be done in a year. Moreover, the plants must first grow in a cramped pot so that sterile flowers do not form. When transplanting, a pot is selected that is 20-30 cm larger in diameter.
With proper care and the creation of suitable growth conditions, the plant will delight its owners with a beautiful appearance and tasty healthy fruits.
