Little tricks to help you save time and money in your garden and vegetable garden.

I recently became a slave to the land, about 5 years ago, when I moved from city to village on a permanent basis. I wrote about it. Moreover, I'm not a big fan of poking around in the ground, and I don't know how, to plant potatoes and plow a vegetable garden, but to live in a village and not have a planting - well it's just not even decent in relation to the neighbors in the village and their relatives, who still count on the annual harvest of berries and fruit.

So I started actively planting, in parallel with the fact that built a bathhouseand gazebo with barbecue insidewhere you can receive guests and meet your old age.

The site allowed you to do anything. Before my "gardening", the site was used as a huge vegetable garden where potatoes were planted. That is why I did not have to cut down the old plantings and uproot their roots. I had a clear clearing - build and plant whatever you want.

Of course, the following were planted first and foremost in order: apple trees, pears, cherries, plums, sweet cherries, sea buckthorn, black elderberry (jam is a dump of the head, I made it only for 5 years).

I planted 12 vines of grapes, bushes of blackberries, raspberries on the fence. Closer to the hazelnut forest.

The first year "jumped" with a tambourine around the new plantings: then feed with fertilizers, then plow, then tie up the grapes.

Here's more about that.

The fact is that traditionally vines are tied to trellises, some with ropes, some with pieces of cloth, some with something else.

The first thing I did for my grapes was a trellis. I must say right away that it is not a successful experience, do not get rid of it, the trellis is not the best option for growing grapes, it can be beautiful, but not effective.

Then I put three pillars - two along the edges of the vine line and one in the center. He pulled a metal cable between the posts. One cable was fixed at the top of the pillars, the second at a level of 50-60 cm. from the earth.

The use of a cable is convenient because in the fall I take it off, twist it, which helps to lay the vines to the ground and cover with covering material for the winter.

Now about the garters.

Advertising actively drummed into me that I needed to buy a stapler for tying plants, they say, it is easy to tie up a vine and tomatoes and cucumbers with one hand.

Probably convenient, but something confused me. And intuitively, I did not experiment with an automatic stapler, but use my own means for tying grapes and tomatoes with cucumbers, and everything, to be honest.

I use reusable colored plastic clips. The price depends on the size. Pack of plastic ties 100 pcs. costs from 75 rubles to 300, depending on the size.

I have found application with these plastic ties in everything, even I pull together branches of apple trees, elderberries and cherries, which are too "scattered" in different directions. Clamps proved to be indispensable for garters of roses.

Of course, in the vineyard, it was the colored screeds that turned out to be simply irreplaceable, because visible in foliage when vines need to be removed. Tying the vine with a plastic clamp is a matter of a few seconds. Moreover, I can not tightly pull the vine to the rope. And in the fall, it is easy to remove and use these screeds for the next season.

If you compare the prices of a stapler with a consumable - this is about 1,400 rubles, which will allow you to tie up, in terms of plastic ties, about 150-200 units, then the advantage is simply obvious.

And not only that, building up the screeds with each other, I make the size that is necessary for me to tie up fruit trees and any bushes.

I am sure that many are already using this in their household, but, as I already wrote, I am new to the garden, so I learn everything from my own experience.
