A friend told me the secret of how to germinate seeds in just 10 hours!
I have a gardener and gardener friend who knows a lot of secrets and recently he gave me very useful advice on germinating seeds that are difficult to grow (peppers, eggplants, etc.). It turns out there is a way by which you can germinate seeds in just a few hours and still get 100% germination. As you know, usually hard-to-seed seeds germinate in at least 5 - 7 days, and sometimes longer. Therefore, I decided to test his method and in the end the result surprised me very much, to be honest, until the very last moment I could not believe that this was even possible. And now I will share with you this interesting way of germinating seeds.
I took pepper seeds as test subjects. They have a very dense shell, which is difficult to soak and the spine is difficult to break through. Therefore, some seeds germinate for a very long time, and some do not germinate at all.
In order for the seeds to sprout in a matter of hours, they need to be prepared. First of all, you need to take the seed and cut off its sharp nose just a little.
This will make the seed round and we will break its shell. This operation must be done with all the seed. It may seem to some that all this is very long, but the result is worth it.
Now we put all the seeds with cut off noses in a cotton pad or cheesecloth folded in several layers.
After the seeds have been laid, you need to prepare two containers. Pour boiling water into one container, and cold water with ice into the other. We are waiting for 5 minutes for the boiling water to cool down a little (about 90 - 95 degrees) and proceed to the second stage.
We wrap a cotton pad (gauze) with seeds so that they do not spill out and take it with tweezers.
Then we dip the seeds in boiling water for three seconds (no longer), take out and squeeze out a cotton pad. Then we dip it into cold water for 5 - 7 seconds (so that the cotton pad becomes cold), we also take it out and wring it out. We repeat this operation 4 more times. Thanks to boiling water, we will soften the shell of the seeds in a short period of time, and by dipping them into cold water, their vitality will begin to activate, as in nature after a thaw.
Now we take some plastic container and put a cotton pad with seeds in it (the disc must be wet, so at the end it does not need to be completely squeezed out). Then we put a bag on the glass and put it in a dark, warm place at a temperature of about 22 - 25 degrees.
Literally in 8 - 10 hours, you will not believe your eyes, some seeds will begin to germinate, and in a day the roots will hatch on all the seeds and they can be planted in the ground!
