The electric saw nervously smokes on the sidelines! I show what the Japanese hand saw Samurai is capable of
According to rumors, the Japanese saw is able to cut any log without even touching it. After hearing this, I decided to walk the path of a true samurai in order to get hold of this amazing tool. And after six months I managed to win just such a Japanese beauty.
Of course, I was joking about the samurai path. Everything is much simpler. I just saved on bags in stores, and with the money I saved I was able to buy myself a saw.
Today we'll see what the Japanese garden saw Samurai D-540-LH is capable of worth 2500 rubles and find out if she is as perfect as they say about her.
And in the end, I will arrange a real samurai duel in which the hand saw will enter into an unequal battle with the electric saw. Let's see which one is faster!
Before the fight I will say a few words about the saw itself and check it in operation. The Japanese samurai saw has a curved blade, the length of which is 50 cm (more precisely, this is the length of its cutting part, from the first to the last tooth). And its total length (including the handle) is almost 70 cm.
The main secret of the Japanese garden saw is its sharpening. It has hardened teeth with 6 mm pitch, which are sharpened on three sides. The teeth are so sharp that I accidentally ran my finger over them and managed to cut myself. I have never seen such a sharpening of teeth, so it will be very interesting for me to test this saw in practice.
At first glance, the saw seems perfect, but I found one flaw in it. Its beautiful wooden handle is not very comfortable in the hand (due to insufficiently smooth edges). However, this will not bring any particular inconvenience to a true samurai.
Well, it's time to put the Japanese saw to the test! Let's start by sawing a small branch. Wow! This saw does not cut, it simply cuts wood, biting into it with its sharp teeth. It feels like I'm cutting butter with a knife. And the most unusual thing, thanks to its sharpening, she saws with movements towards herself, which is rather unusual, but very convenient!
Some few movements and I did not even notice how I sawed a branch with a thickness of a little less than 6 cm. But this is all nonsense, an ordinary saw can just as easily cut a willow branch. Let's make it harder!
Let's try to cut an apple tree branch of the same thickness. Surprisingly, the Japanese saw accomplished this task so easily that I hardly felt the difference between a willow branch and an apple tree.
You know, I'm just sure that I won't need an electric saw anymore. All garden work: trimming trees and shrubs, I will now only do this saw!
But it's still interesting to know if a Japanese hand saw can match the electric one in cutting speed? Let's check! I suggest watching this fight in a short video below.
