I will never buy glue-sealant again, because its analog can be made for mere pennies!
Last weekend I came to my parents at the dacha to help them with cleaning the local area and have a little rest in nature. After unloading all the things from the car, I noticed a neighbor in the country who was doing something on the roof. "Hello Vasily Petrovich! What are you doing there? "I exclaimed. "Hi Vanyushka (he knew me from an early age and always called me that)! Yes, I am sealing cracks in the slate with sealant, "he replied. In his hand was the most common syringe. I wondered what kind of sealant it was and decided to find out everything from him.
It turned out that a neighbor makes himself an analogue of a waterproof glue-sealant, which will always be used in the country. He said that with its help it is quite possible to fill in cracks, for example, in window frames and frames.
Close up joints, cracks and holes in the slate roof.
Yes there are holes and cracks! You can even glue the cracked brick with it, ”he said laughing.
The recipe for this glue-sealant turned out to be very simple, and it takes mere pennies to make it.. Vasily Petrovich happily shared this recipe with me, and I, in turn, will share it with you.
First we need some kind of container. A half liter glass jar is fine.
We also need 100 - 150 grams of gasoline (personally, I always have such a supply for a chainsaw, in extreme cases, you can drain a little gas from the car).
If there is no gasoline and it is difficult to get it, you can take the most common solvent.
And the most important and last ingredient we need is Styrofoam. I think there will be no problems with this and a piece of foam can be found in any home.
And now the cooking process itself. Pour 100 - 150 grams of gasoline (solvent) into a jar and throw in pieces of foam plastic.
We take some stick and start stirring the foam until it dissolves and will turn into a thick viscous substance (the foam dissolves quickly, so it will take several seconds).
Now, if you need to close up some hole (for example, in the roof), we take a few pieces of cloth, coat them with prepared glue with a sealant and then lay them in several layers on the damaged a place. And if you need to fill a crack or crevice, for convenience, you can put the sealant in a regular syringe. Within a day, this sealant (like the purchased one) dries completely.
