I dreamed of a drilling machine in my workshop for a long time, and finally the dream came true. I got a JIB radial drilling machine

I took the machine here on that website. Delivery was surprisingly fast - six days from Moscow to Barnaul.

Machine characteristics.

Why such a machine.

When I did various homemade products and accessories for my workshop, I often faced the task of drilling a strictly vertical hole and often felt the lack of a drilling machine. I partially solved this problem using a router, but this method has its limitations.

I considered budget machines, as well as drill stands, but did not buy. The prospect of reworking and adjusting such a machine so that it performs well its original functions did not suit me.

I also tried to make a homemade drill based on a drill. But the results did not suit me.

Therefore, I began to look at more expensive machines, so that there were ample opportunities and that he fulfilled all his capabilities right out of the box.

As a result, I stopped at the machine JIB RDP86016F

I must say right away that such a machine is not needed in every workshop.

This machine is designed primarily for working with wood.

If you make a lot of different homemade devices and gadgets, if you strive to cover as many directions as possible when working with wood, if there is a need to solve atypical tasks, then you will use the capabilities of such a machine completely.

I have already tested this machine when making the second tier of such a bed.

It turned out to be very convenient to use it to make holes for fasteners, to prepare nests for stairs. Drilling at an angle helped to neatly mount the corner supports.

Machine overview.

And now I offer a small overview of this machine.

Let's start at the top.

Speed ​​adjustment is done by moving the belt over the pulleys.

You can loosen and tighten the belt using the thumbscrew near the engine.

The distance from the column to the drill is adjusted by loosening the clamp and rotating the wing.

The upper part of the machine can be rotated 90 degrees to the right, 45 degrees to the left. For precise angle adjustment, there is a marking scale and an orientation line on the pipe.

To rotate, you need to pull the pin out of the groove, which sets a fixed vertical position.

Thus, the "head" of the machine can be moved back and forth from the support column. The maximum distance to the center of the drill is 430 mm. You can also set the desired drilling angle, both left and right.

The machine table is also very flexible. It can be placed at a certain distance from the column, rotated around the column and fixed in the desired position.

In addition, the table can also be rotated at different angles. To do this, simply loosen the mounting bolt under the table.

The machine has a convenient drilling depth adjustment.

Many degrees of protection. When the chuck guard is folded down, the machine will not turn on, as well as when the gearbox cover is open for changing speeds. There is also a protruding large emergency stop button. Also, if there is a sudden power outage, the machine will not turn on on its own.

There is a convenient system for laser guidance of the drilling center.

The machine comes fully assembled. The upper part of the machine is completely assembled.

The column can be easily screwed to the base with 4 bolts.

To install the table, you need to loosen the ring fastening on the column to release the rack. This rail is inserted into the table support and placed back onto the column.

The kit also includes a vise with fixing bolts.

The cartridge must be installed separately. There is a special wedge in the kit to remove it.

Morse taper drills can also be used with this machine.

The good news is that the machine does not require modification and is ready to work immediately after assembly. On one project I have already used this machine with success. Also in the plans there are interesting ideas and soon they will appear here on the channel.
