Basic rules for the construction of a frame house

I will share them based on my personal experience.

• Observe building, fire and sanitary regulations. They are enshrined at the legislative level. These norms relate to the location of the house on the site, quality and construction technology. Compliance with them is mandatory.
• Use dried wood. Dried wood contains less moisture than natural wood, so it will not crack. According to SNIP, the boards must have a moisture content of no more than 19%.
• Building a house is best done by qualified professionals. If you are not, then you should entrust this work to a professional construction team.
• Observe the technology of erecting a frame house. Do everything in stages and do not rush!

1. Select the location of the house on the site in accordance with all standards and draw up a project for the house. In order not to miss anything, it is better to immediately contact the design organization. Here are some rules: the house should be 5 meters from the road, 3 meters from the fence and adjacent plots, 12 meters from other wooden buildings and 6 meters from buildings made of non-combustible materials.

2. Lay the foundation after the project is complete. For a frame house, it is better to choose a pile-screw or shallow strip foundation. It is important to follow the technology and monitor the quality of the solution and work performance.

3. Cover the foundation with a moisture-proof material - bitumen mastic or roofing material.

4. Make the floor rail and floor. Floor insulation is best done with stone slabs.

5. Install the frame in one of the ways: either assemble the walls on the floor with subsequent sequential fixing, or immediately erect the frame at the construction site. Use nails or screws for fastening. Use a warm corner to install the corner posts. Observe the order of work, strictly monitor the accuracy of the installation of individual units. According to SNIP, all nodes of the frame must be covered with waterproofing materials. Lay insulation between the beams. Take care of its quality, safety and vapor barrier.

6. Fasten the ceiling overlaps to the upper strapping using a cut or metal corners. Cutting - no more than 50% of the thicknesss beams of the upper harness.

7. A gable roof will allow you to build a house more quickly. But there can be any options. It is better to make the angle of the slope 30-50 degrees. You can choose the materials for the roof to your taste.
