Simple tool for quick cleaning of resin from tools
When working with pine, the tool is usually quickly clogged with resin, be it a saw blade, a milling cutter, or the knives and rollers at the planer.
The other day I had a chance to plan a pine tree a lot, and this result is obtained quite quickly.
Since I have a budget, low power machine, with such a layer of resin, some boards are already starting to slip on the rollers.
Previously, I used solvents such as white spirit, turpentine and the like to remove tar, but it takes a long time to clean them.
Then I decided to try a different type of solvent. I had half a bottle of 646 solvent, so I decided to clean it with it.
I removed the cover from the machine and lowered the planer table as far as possible for better access to the rollers, but first, of course, I pulled the plug out of the socket to turn off the machine.
I moistened a piece of soft cloth with this solvent and started cleaning.
I turned the rollers with the most accessible wheel in the gearbox.
It took 5-7 minutes to clean the rollers and knives.
Another 3 minutes - remove and replace the cover.
As a result, in 10 minutes you can clean the machine and continue working.
In this way, the saw blade or cutters can be quickly cleaned of resin.
