How to make a personalized pencil case on a jigsaw

With a jigsaw machine, you can make original jewelry boxes, which are very well suited as a unique personal gift.

To make this box, I have prepared a template for the lid and several ash boards.

Such boards, by the way, may end up in scraps from a large product.

I decided to make the box as follows: glue the bottom between the sides, and make a loose lid. The short sides are made higher just for the thickness of the cover.

I decided to connect the sidewalls using a spike connection, so the long parts are larger than the bottom by double the size of the short walls.

The thorns were made on a jigsaw. Fitted the connection with a file.

The drawing on the lid was also done using a jigsaw.

For the cover, it was also necessary to make a latch. It was made from a bar 20 mm thick and of this shape.

The lid is made with pivoting hinges. To make it easy to turn on one side, from below, where the lid turns, a semicircular milling is made.

A current wire was used as the loops.

Taking into account the fastening and opening of the lid, the box was assembled together with the lid.

After assembly, the outer sides of the box were leveled and polished.

The latch was glued to the middle of the lid. For positioning, holes were drilled in the lid and latch for small dowels (a match or a toothpick). In the front wall, a small recess was made for the latch protrusion.

The result is an original personalized pencil box.
