"Get the line off the trimmer!"

We went to the country house on weekends. And I had such a moment that terribly infuriated me - mowing grass in the local area, which did not work out in any way. Fortunately, kind people came to the rescue!

The last few months, the weather has been as unpredictable as nature. The sun and the terrible drought did not allow the grass to grow, which, however, suited me. But over the past couple of weeks, the monthly rainfall has probably dropped out. And the weeds have grown, and the grass has begun to grow - cannot be stopped! Then I had to get a trimmer, since we arrived and have time, and mow all this ugliness that has grown.

If only a plot had to be mowed, it is not so bad. But there is also a local area. And everything grows there - from beautiful soft grass, to burdocks, young growth, burdock and other plants with thick stems. To mow them, you have to use a rather expensive line. And even then, she does not always cope.

This is what happened now. I woke up on Saturday morning and realized: "The jungle is calling!" If not now, then next time will have to clean up the real jungle.

I spent less than an hour to work in the yard, 30-40 minutes. But, having started work behind the fence, I realized that I would have to spend here all day, or even all weekend. The beautiful rain gave a good opportunity for young plants to grow and gain strength! Massive stems, no longer thin shoots, bushes - all this "shaggy" the line, giving practically no results. Trampled on the spot.

I replaced the bobbin with a fishing line with a metal disc on the trimmer. But he couldn't cope either. Here my nerves began to fail. This is the moment of aggression combined with despair. I already wanted to go for the saw. But the neighbor came out very successfully and on time. Probably watched my failure)

It turned out that our neighbor works at a machine-building enterprise. And there craftsmen make knives, including for mowers. In size and shape, the disc exactly repeated Husqvarnu, just in case I drilled all dimensions - 3 cutting double-sided sharpened beams, the outer diameter is 30 cm, the inner hole for the shaft is 25.4 mm.

But the difference is that they cut it out of thick, durable steel. If an ordinary disc is up to 1.5 mm thick, then this one was 1.5 times thicker - 2.5 mm! The thickness of my disc was not enough to fight undergrowth and thick bushes, and his professional "home-made" is exactly what you need!

A neighbor explained to me that a good metal disc is needed to deal with thick, massive plants, such as those behind our yard. The outer diameter must be at least 250 mm, and the thickness must be from 1.8 mm. The three-beam disk possessed all these parameters. The main thing is to sharpen it well on both sides. Not a disc - but a dream!
