Making a door to a bath from lining scraps
Greetings.
Earlier I already talked about clapboarding my bath, and from the scraps that remained I decided to make a door into the bath.
I made a frame from 20 mm thick boards. I twisted it quickly - into long screws.
I had a lot of short and about the same amount of longer scraps, so I decided to make the door conditionally from two parts separated vertically.
Trimming brought to one size using circulars.
Sheathed the door frame with clapboard in two strips. I nailed the rail with nails.
I had a few long slats left for the edging, but I had to prepare them first.
From the side of the groove at the lining, I cut off one part to make a quarter.
I also cut the lining in width so that it overlaps the edge of the sheathing and covers the frame.
For the vertical divider, I chose a quarter on the other side of the rail.
The edge of the resulting rail was rounded off with a grinder.
Since the edging made is the same thickness as the lining, I nailed thin strips cut from the grooves around the perimeter of the door frame.
The edging is now flat. He nailed it with thin finishing nails.
And the result is a door like this.
I made such a covering on both sides. Moreover, on the one hand, I made the edging a little wider than the frame to make a door with an influx. On the other hand, the edging is made flush with the frame.
You can see more clearly the manufacture of the door in the video clip below.
