Free gasification of Russian citizens or Nord Stream 2? What will our state choose?
In May 2020, the President announced that free gasification of all private traders in our country was planned. An official order was given and a deadline was specified - to gasify in 2 stages - until 2024 and 2030.
But questions immediately arose: Who will finance this whole idea? And do they plan to bring it to life, or is it all "just words"?
In this case, only time will put everything on the shelves. But now the situation has begun to clear up a little.
It looks like the final point has been set in the completion of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. In this regard, a certain amount of money is released - the planned investment for this project. Maybe they will be allowed to gasify Russia? Do you think our authorities will agree to this?
Nord Stream 2 is a trunk gas pipeline that will run through five countries, from Russia to Germany. The planned length is 1234 kilometers through the economic zones and territorial waters of Germany, Denmark, Russia, Finland and Sweden.
At the moment, it remains to lay about 130 km. gas pipeline. Now construction should be carried out in Denmark. But there was a small "nuance" that forces to stop construction, despite all the previously invested funds.
The Danish government gave permission for the construction of the gas pipeline, but accompanied it with some clarification. Ship insurance must be carried out by certain insurance companies in the European jurisdiction.
International Ship Owners Insurance Club organized expertiseto identify all sorts of sanctions risks when insuring the Nord Stream 2 project. From which it was concluded that in connection with the direct threat of sanctions,the club will not cover any activity related to the construction of this project. And all the members of the club were advised to be more careful before entering into contracts.
And then a vicious circle formed. Construction cannot proceed without ships. Ships cannot participate in the project without insurance. And the Shipowners Club refuses to cover insurance. This means that our "ships" are unlikely to be able to become owners of such compulsory insurance.
What's the bottom line?
Most likely, everyone will soon forget about the Nord Stream 2 project. And the invested funds will be wasted. Offhand - Gazprom's investments in this project have already amounted to about 415 billion rubles. If we calculate, then this amount would be enough to gasify our country for 8 years and increase the level of gasification in Russia by 8-10%.
Now this money has been wasted.Realization of this made our authorities decide on free gasification of private traders in the country. It seems like they still have to connect houses to gas for free. From 2021, this will begin to happen in four regions, and then more. Gasification will be completed by 2030!
