We drove into an apartment full of old stuff. We made a normal kitchen renovation. Before / after photos
The apartment the family moved into could not be called “killed” or neglected. It's just that everything - both the decoration and some furniture - is, as they say, outdated.
To give the kitchen space a modern look, they decided not to be limited to cosmetic alterations: they stripped everything to the ground and only then proceeded to repair.
The interior has changed dramatically and the first thing that catches your eye is an extremely harmonious combination of colors of literally all finishing materials.
During the renovation process:
The floor is paved with large ceramic tiles. Their rich texture is exactly the same as the facades of the lower kitchen modules.
Dark, with complex color transitions, they are the perfect backdrop for the radiant whiteness of the top cabinets, refrigerator and oven.
The kitchen is located along the white painted wall. An apron made of elongated snow-white tiles, decorated in some places with the image of cutlery, looks very nice: simple and fresh.
Adjacent to it is a light gray-white countertop with a round inset sink with a massive tap and a gas stove hob made of tempered white glass. The contrasting spot is black burners and a cooker hood.
On the work surface there are only wooden cutting boards, spatulas and a bread box. Several glass jars, a soap dispenser and a paper towel holder: everything you need every day. Small household appliances used from time to time are put away in cupboards.
The dining area is located on the opposite wall, trimmed with white tiles with gray splashes, imitating brickwork. The same pair of colors is also present in the coloring of the table, matching perfectly with the white chairs. Nearby - a hinged shelf made of wood for storing wine with glasses.
Minimum decor: a couple of flowerpots with herbs, and a composition on the table. And no textiles other than an air curtain on the window and a striped rug on the floor.
The kitchen space looks impeccable: strict forms of furniture, no pretentiousness, everything is practical and thoughtful. Still, white is a safe bet, especially in such interesting combinations as in this kitchen.
