We connect the LED floodlight to a regular cartridge
Greetings to all self-made people on my channel. Today we will connect the LED floodlight through a conventional socket for a base lamp. The idea was shown by a familiar master Sergey Kozlov on his YouTube channel AVTO CLASS. Next, we will consider the design itself and draw our conclusions. Well, as always, I ask all self-made people to express their opinion on the improvement and modernization of the device.
And so, for work, we are wooding an old light bulb, or rather, we need the base itself. We clean the insides of all glass, we do not need it.
Next, we take the thinnest 1 mm drill and drill a through hole through the insulator.
Do not push the drill too hard here, as the core can simply be squeezed out of the base. Therefore, you do not need to use your heroic strength here.
Now we need two tinned wires.
Insert the first orange wire inside the base and bring it out through the drilled hole, after which we solder it.
Further, in the base on the side, we make an incision for attaching the second wire.
Clamp the second black wire in this section and solder it to the base.
This is how this structure looks from the inside. One wire is soldered on the end, the second on the base case.
Next, we make a fastener from polypropylene pipes. There is nothing complicated here, a tee with two pipe sections about 7-8 cm long and an additional ring.
Now we need to drill through holes in the tubes with a diameter of 5 mm as shown in the photo below. These holes are needed to mount the spotlight.
This is the kind of fastener you get in the end.
Now we install the base with wires. We pass the wires inside the pipe as in the photo.
Putting the structure together. We bolt the spotlight through the pre-drilled holes. We connect our wires to the wires of the spotlight and insulate them.
This is the design we ended up with.
We screw the searchlight into a regular base and rejoice)))
Now let's move on to the conclusions. Personally, I think that homemade products are quite a place to be, although not for widespread use.
- For example, if you do not have the desire or ability to pull a separate wire for such a spotlight, then a homemade product will be quite a worthy replacement. Of course, you can simply cut off the cartridge and connect the wires in a straight line without dancing with a tambourine, but in this case, you will need to think separately about mounting the searchlight body itself.
- The author of the idea does not specify exactly how to fix the base on a plastic pipe, but it must be fastened securely, since it is this fastening that will hold the entire structure. Here you can probably heat the pipe and put the base on hot, or additionally fix it with self-tapping screws through the base without damaging the wires. If you have more ideas, tell me in the comments.
In general, I think that the homemade product is quite suitable and has a place to be. I will end on this, see you soon and wait for your opinions in the comments. With you was Mikhalych, all Peace and Good.
