We wanted a stylish kitchen, but it turned out to be too dark and heavy for 5 m2

The couple moved into an apartment that they inherited from their parents. The apartment had a neat but old renovation. The interior is out of fashion, outdated household appliances, old wiring and pipes. In general, a high-quality and modern renovation was needed.

The guys studied for a long time examples of modern design of small-sized kitchens. We decided to do without the help of a designer in order to invest the saved funds in repairs. Everyone knows that building materials and construction services are not cheap.

The kitchen area is only 5 sq. m. Due to the combination with the living room, it seems larger. We chose white, black, gray, brown shades for decoration. I will say right away: not the best combination, especially for a small room.

A kitchen set was placed around the perimeter of the room. The upper cabinets are wooden, the lower ones are white. The dark gray countertop was combined with the windowsill, increasing the area of ​​the working area. You can also sit near the window and have a cup of aromatic coffee. Cooker hood, hob and oven in black.

For finishing the kitchen backsplash we chose a trendy black “hog” tile.

To the right of the kitchen entrance, a large, cool silver refrigerator was placed. The floor is laminated in a rich warm shade. To the left of the entrance, spacious wooden cabinets were installed. Small halogens are installed in the two-level ceiling.

The interior design of the kitchen was not a success; after all, it was worth at least getting the designer's advice. The white bottom cabinets of the kitchen unit look ridiculous. For the design of small-sized rooms, it is worth choosing light shades, or make the upper cabinets light, and the lower ones dark.

The interior is overflowing with shades, the color scheme is too dark and heavy. If these shades were used as a decor, in a minimal amount, a nice and interesting interior could have turned out.

The spouses were happy with the result for the first 2 weeks, and then they realized that it was very difficult to be in such a room, it was too dim and gloomy. Now the guys will have to pay more, they decided to do the repairs again at the first opportunity, but in a different style.
