A quick and reliable way to repair an ax

The topic is relevant and topical. The hatchet has pretty much worked out and the handle has become unusable. But, as the author of the idea said, do not throw the ax away, otherwise it will come back))) Well, then we will repair it.

In general, the essence of the idea of repair is as simple as possible.

For repairs, we need a clerical knife, an old bicycle camera and straight arms.

Cut off a small segment from the bicycle camera, as shown in the photo.

We clamp the ax handle in a vice and pull the camera over the ax handle. It is not necessary to heat the chamber, we pull it over the cold one.

Now we lubricate the stretched chamber with Linseed fat. This is necessary in order to be able to put the ax on the handle. If not lubricated, the handle will go very tight and there is a high probability that the rubber will simply break.

Now we put the ax on the handle in the standard folk way.

Cut off the excess rubber chamber with a clerical knife on both sides.

That's all, the ax is ready to go and theoretically can serve faithfully for a long time.
