Decorative flat slate for the facade and wood concrete blocks with decorative cladding
Last year, my neighbor across the street trimmed the façade of his basement floor with panels that mimic stone-look tiles (or "printed concrete" decorative plaster). I wondered what kind of material it was. It turns out that it is produced by our local slate plant:
The neighbor has a facade from the Rubble Stone line (fourth slide). But the look of the Retro Quarry Stone is much more interesting. It is two-tone. The seams are darker. And the material looks more natural and attractive.
Sheet size: 1200x1570 mm and 600x600 mm; Thickness: 8mm. Choice of colors: over 3000 shades! Polymer coating. Price: 880 RUB for a large sheet. 467 rubles / m2 for durable material for the facade of the foundation.
Sheets - the same flat slate, chrysotile cement. The polymer coating is not just acrylic paint; it will not flake off or wash off over time. They can also decorate the masonry of fence blocks. Not a bad option, I think.
An example of a basement siding with a similar look is
1300 rubles / m2 (2.5 times more expensive). I think plastic is less durable in the cold. There is a chance of damaging it. And flat slate is resistant to any temperature in winter and summer. The manufacturer's line also includes front panels. They are called Krasstone - a coating with granite and marble chips. But seams are visible between such panels. This is solved by the installation of ventilated facades. Unfortunately, it looks like an office building:
The facade of office buildings from them looks solid. Whether it is suitable for your home (or for finishing the basement, foundation) is up to you.
This is how the sheets of flat slate with a layer of marble chips look like. The sheet size is the same. I called and found out the price: 1250 rubles / sheet. Approximately 664 rubles / m2. Anyway, it is 2 times cheaper than basement siding!
Examples of installation of facade panels. The manufacturer is located in Krasnoyarsk, but there are branches in other regions, see them on the website.
I believe that this material is an alternative to siding, with cheaper costs (if you do not find fault with the look).
Let's move on to another building material that has an outer decorative layer:
Arbolite blocks with decorative facing
It turns out that in some regions of the Russian Federation, the production of wood concrete blocks with decorative tiles has been launched:
Arbolite (wood chips bonded with cement) is a popular building material. But you won't be able to live in an unplastered house. The house is blown by the wind, it gets wet through with an oblique downpour. It is imperative to make a plaster facade. Some manufacturers have started the production of wood concrete immediately with facing tiles. This simplifies construction and reduces construction time.
A house made of such blocks looks like a house made of heat blocks from the outside. similar decorative facing tiles are used. The only difference is in the material of the walls. Here, of course, chips with cement. In the heat block - a cake made of concrete, polystyrene and outside tiles, fastened with fiberglass reinforcement. At the price, the heat block is slightly more expensive by 1-1.5 thousand / m3since it is more difficult to manufacture. But arbolite is not the cheapest wall material. On avito, ads with prices for such with a decorative layer - 7 thousand rubles / m3. Expanded clay concrete blocks are made of a similar type.
The advantage of building from such blocks is that you immediately have a finished facade of the house. Saving on time and work on exterior decoration. Arbolit does not need to be insulated. Its thermotechnical characteristics, walls with a thickness of 400 mm are also suitable for Siberia.
Decorative tiles are manufactured separately. Any colour. And the texture - depending on what forms the manufacturer has. But in order for the facade of such blocks to have the same seams, the blocks must have good geometry. The seams after laying, I think, still need to be filled and rubbed.
The process of making such blocks on video. The finished tile is put into a vibrating mold during the block forming process. I will give a few examples from different industries:
Anapa produces wood concrete with tiles "washed concrete" (arbolit23.ru), coated with natural pebbles. They also produce a foam-carbolite block with two foam concrete layers. These require less plaster. A layer of foam concrete is lighter and warmer than just concrete cladding. After building the walls of the house, you still need to immediately plaster the house at least from the outside.
In conclusion, advice for those who will build walls from this material:
Reception of wood concrete in the masonry (a layer of foamed polyethylene) - to avoid a cold bridge in the form of a solution. Maybe someone will need this advice.
