Making a nut cracker

Good day, comrades Kulibins. As the forced vacation continues for all of us, we from idleness continue to invent all the nonsense of everything that we have in garages and sheds. Today I propose for your consideration another model of a nutcracker made of a shaped pipe. I again spied on the idea from a foreigner, it seemed to me interesting and now I am sharing it with you.

Since I don't know how to write beautiful intros, let's start right away with making them. We take a profile pipe 100x100, it will be our body.

Cut off a piece 4-6 cm long from the pipe and drill a through hole from above. I will not say the exact size, but it looks like the author is using a 10 drill.

Now we take a nut for 10, clamp it in a vice and also drive it with a drill to cleanly remove the thread.

We need to weld the gaku exactly to the previously prepared hole, as shown in the photo.

To make everything work smoothly, we take a bolt of 10, insert it into the hole along with the nut and in this state we grab it. This will allow the bolt to center the nut and prevent it from sliding to the side.

In the inside of the profile pipe, you need to weld a large washer as in the photo. It is needed in order to fix the nut in the desired position and prevent it from rolling out.

That's it, now let's start assembling. Cut off the excess thread from the bolt that we used to center the nut. leave only 1 cm of thread to screw on the nut. Then we put a spring on the bolt, which will return it to its original position after pressing.

We insert the bolt with the spring into the hole through the welded nut and tighten one more nut from the inside. It is with her that we will crack the nut.

All. Next comes the purely aesthetic decoration of the product. The author made a wide wooden handle from wood and painted the body of the walnut cracker.

The principle of operation is clear. We put the nut in the inner washer and push the wooden handle with a swing.

You can chop nuts and even apricot pits. The only problem is that the fragments will fly in all possible directions, but the device turned out to be very reliable.
